PHZ Lucerne is home to three research institutes.

    • The Institute for Teaching and Learning (ILeL) deals with educational and learning processes. In particular, it focuses on questions relating to the areas of teaching (general didactics, subject didactics, tacit knowledge, teaching skills, classroom management, etc.) and learning (learning methods, learning processes, learning strategies, etc.).
The ILeL has its own German German Website.
    • The Institute for Educational Professionalism and School Culture (IPS) concentrates on the professional expertise of teachers and its effect on the development of school culture(s). In particular, it focuses on questions relating to educational professionalism (pre-requisite for professional conduct, core skills of successful teachers, etc.) and school culture (imparted knowledge, team work, knowledge transfer between teachers, etc.).
The IPS has its own German Website.
    • The Institute for School and Diversity (ISH) deals with integrative practices that have to do with heterogeneity in education. The differences and similarities in children and teenagers has been a national and international topic in recent years and affects all levels in the school system.
